Abstract

Highly nondegenerate four-wave mixing is observed in tapered microstructure fiber. A 6000 cm−1 frequency shift and 10% efficiency was achieved in a 1.4 cm interaction length due to the fiber's enhanced nonlinearity and dispersion profile.
