Abstract

I have adapted a program reported earlier1 for tracing rays through conic surfaces for the Macintosh Basic over 2.0. As in the previous program for the Apple II, ray tracing is accomplished by solving the 3-D simultaneous equations for the ray and the surface. Thus skew rays and rays out of the plane of observation can be accommodated. Input has been simplified by use of the Macintosh features and menus. Plotted surfaces and rays are shown on the screen and printer. A demonstration of the program is given.
