Abstract
Recently James and Wolf investigated the spectral changes produced when partially coherent light is incident on two pinholes in a Young’s interference experiment.1 For a particular class of partially coherent fields, they showed that the spectrum of the light at an on-axis observation point in the far zone can be significantly different from the spectrum at the pinholes if the latter is broadband.
