Use of Bell inequalities in quantum optics and the EPR paradox

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We show that the violation of Bell inequalities in the analysis of atomic cascades may follow from additional correlations produced by the measurement process for subensembles so that it does not contradict the existence of hidden variables. The polarization measurements in atomic cascades are described by following the quantum mechanical analysis. However, the common use of the locality conditions in the proofs of Bell inequalities is criticized, and alternative formulas are suggested.
