Abstract

Laser beam quality measurements have become important diagnostics for laser operation and beam propagation. A commercial instrument, based on the M2 method of defining beam quality,1 has been developed for CW lasers.2 We have constructed and tested an equivalent instrument for measuring the beam quality of a single shot of a pulsed laser.
