Abstract
Effects of temperature on transmission characteristics of optical fibers have been widely investigated.1 However. to the best of our knowledge, very little information has been reported on the temperature dependence of chromatic dispersion in single-mode fibers. Shibata et al.2 presented material dispersion characteristics of pure and germanium-doped silica glasses in a high-temperature range, but these data were based on refractive-index measurements of glass blocks. The temperature dependence of chromatic dispersion for single-mode fibers, in a temperature range from-60 to 150°C, is presented.
