Abstract
A high-speed optical switch matrix1 operating in the Gb/s range is necessary for future mGb/s optical communication systems and photonic switching systems. A traveling-wave switch2 is a suitable cross-point in the switch matrix, because it can operate in the gigahertz range. To make the switch matrix, traveling-wave switches have to be uniformly integrated on a single substrate. However, few trials so far have been done on the integration of traveling-wave switches.
