Abstract
Using vector and massively parallel computers to carry out super-computer-level computations has proved to be feasible and, with systems like the Intel Touchstone Delta System and the Thinking Machines Corp’s CM-2, provides a path to greater computing power than traditional approaches. However, even those systems are not appropriate or adequate for certain tasks.
