Abstract
Transmission of 640 Gbit/s over 7000 km in a circulating loop experiment is achieved using all undersea qualified component and transmission fiber technology. We demonstrate an average system margin > 5 dB, adequate to ensure the manufacturability of the system, employing 28 nm EDFA design, CRZ modulation format, and a strong FEC coding.
