Abstract

An adaptive LLR calculation algorithm is proposed for non-additive-white-Gaussian-noise (non-AWGN) optical channels. The noise distribution is continuously up-dated based on previous decisions. The performance is tested experimentally using 16-QAM and soft-DQPSK systems.
