Abstract
Infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy is a technique ideally suited for the analysis of broad and complex spectra and has, therefore, been widely utilized in molecular IR spectroscopy and astrophysics.1 In the technique, spectral information of the source is obtained by computing the Fourier transform of the interferogram generated by scanning a mirror of a Michelson interferometer which is illuminated with radiation from the source.
