Abstract
Traditionally, the measurement of liquid refractive index has involved relatively bulky equipment such as the Abbe refractometer and total internal reflection to define refractive Index to 10-4 refractive Index units. This paper describes a new refractive Index sensor which is approximately .2×.5×.5 mm in size and can be used with an optical fiber to sense the refractive Index of liquids using less than 0.01 microliter samples.
