Abstract

The Large Optical Generator (LOG), a computer numerically controlled vertical grinder has been used to generate a convex off-axis segment of an f/0.35, 10 m parent paraboloid. The segment subtends 45° of arc and has inner and outer radii of 350 and 1975 mm respectively. Overall dimensions of the segment are about 2x2x0.12 m.
