Abstract

The request for the fabrication of optical components has changed dramatically over the past 5 years. Increased demand on system performance is driving optical designers to use more and more aspheres and even free form surfaces in their systems. This presentation shall introduce a new conceptfor grinding and polishing ofaspheres and free form surfaces, including Wheel Polishing Technology (WPT) and the greatly anticipated Active Fluid Jet Polishing Process (A-FJP).
