Autonomous Lidar System for Cloud Climatology

Abstract

An autonomous lidar system for cloud climatology studies has been developed and evaluated. The system was designed to acquire vertical lidar soundings at regular intervals for months at a time with little operator intervention and minimal maintenance requirements.
