Abstract
We present the theoretical and experimental characterization of a new holographic vibrometer, that uses the dynamics of the photorefractive effect in a semiconductor crystal as GaAs. The performances of our vibrometer in the linear regime are essentially controlled by the response time of the photorefractive crystal. To increase the measurement range we show the ability to extract the velocity of the target in the nonlinear regime using only an optical treatment, what allows to increase by a factor 1000 the limit velocity of the linear regime without the signal processing used by the classical interferometers (fringe counting technique, speckle tracking routines).
