Abstract
Squeezed light1,2 is light whose complex amplitude exhibits less quantum uncertainty in one quadrature than the other. Such light can be produced by nonlinear optical processes such as parametric downconversion in a χ(2) medium. When the pump field contains more than one spatial mode or more than one frequency, multimode squeezing results.
