Advanced Quantum Communication via Hyperentanglement

Abstract

Photons created via spontaneous downconversion may be simultaneously entangled in multiple degrees of freedom. This ‘hyperentanglement’ enables advanced capabilities in quantum communication, including multi-bit per photon quantum cryptography and superdense quantum teleportation.
