Tutorial: Fusion Based Quantum Error Correction: Concepts and New Developments

Abstract

In this tutorial I will introduce the main concept behind fusion-based error correction starting from cluster states. I will also present some recent results that have harnessed this technique for improving the threshold requirements when physical noise in the qubits is highly structured.
