Abstract
Copper nanoparticle use as low cost material in plasmonics solar cell has limited due to their spontaneous oxidation at ambient conditions. However, various methodologies have been developed to protect Cu from oxidation for their stability with desired optical properties in different applications, but it is awkward to control size, and shape of nanoparticles. Hence, in the present work, scattering response of Cu, CuO, and Cu2O nanospheres has been studied using Mie theory. The results show that copper oxide (s) nanosphere compete with Cu for better scattering response under some parametric conditions viz. size, embedding medium, and localized surface plasmon resonance wavelength region.
