Controlling the Behavior of Single Live Cells with High Density Arrays of Microscopic OLEDs

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

OLED micro-arrays are used for real-time optical control of neuron activity and of the locomotion of individual cells. Close contact (<2µm) between OLED and the aqueous cell culture medium is facilitated by high-performance thin-film encapsulation.
