Abstract
Adaptive Optics imaging is unique in that it provides real-time compensation of scenes distorted by turbulent media. However, the compensation is never 100% and residual optical aberrations are present in the images. In general, the compensated Strehl ratios are significantly less averaging in the 20-50% regime for most systems. Image post-processing is further complicated by the temporal variability of the AO compensated PSFs.
