Fiber-Optic Probes as Sensors for Diffuse Backscattering

Abstract

We analyze the performance of various fiber-optic probe designs for in-situ measurement of diffusely back-scattered light by turbid media. The characteristics of probes with different interaction volumes is discussed and fitted to model calibration functions.
