Abstract
The generation of terahertz (THz) radiation via photoconductive switching or optical rectification with femtosecond optical pulses has enabled the investigation of diffractive effects with single-cycle pulses. The far-field diffraction of a broadband pulse from an aperture can be described by the time-domain Huygens-Fresnel integral.
