Abstract
The modified convolution method [Opt. Lett. 31, 1633 (2006) ] is not limited to low numerical aperture (NA), and it is completely different from the method proposed in the preceding Comment by Garcia-Sucerquia et al. [Opt. Lett. 31, 2845 (2006) ]. Simulations show that the previous method is applicable as long as the scalar diffraction theory remains valid. The experimental result with a NA of 0.17 was used for demonstration only. Experiments for recording high-NA holograms are in preparation.
