The figure presents the result for a time multiplexing technique to achieve chromatic dispersion compensation in a two-dimensional diffraction grating. The top figure shows the diffraction orders generated when three laser lines (red, green, and blue) impinge on the grating, showing the spatial separation of the different wavelengths. The bottom figure shows the equivalent result when a time sequential solution is employed, where three rescaled gratings are displayed on a liquid crystal display, in combination with sequential monochromatic illumination obtained by means of a color filter wheel, showing white diffraction orders. For details see Martinez et al., 911-918.
