Abstract
An etalon was crossed with a small concave-grating spectrograph by forming the rings on the vertical focus instead of the slit. Photographs taken on the Rowland circle and diameter of the grating sphere show the vertical astigmatism to be negligible. Some limitations of the method are discussed.
