Abstract
Spatial induction of brightness change was studied using chromatic-appearing test disks and inducing annuli of nearly equal luminance. Wavelengths of the disks and annuli were independently varied. Induction of brightness change depends mainly upon the luminance relationships; variation of stimulus wavelengths, as such, has little if any effect.
