Abstract
Several Stark-tuned infrared–infrared double-resonance signals are observed when the 13CH3OH and 12CH3OH molecules are investigated using a cw 12C16O2 laser modulated by an acoustoptic modulator. The observations have allowed new assignments and the confirmation of some previous assignments to be made for coincidences between absorption transitions of these molecules and CO2 laser emission lines. The a-component, μa, of the permanent electric-dipole moment of 13CH3OH in the n = 0 ground state and the first excited CO stretch band have been determined. The μa′ value in the CH3-deformation state of 12CH3OH has also been derived.
