Abstract
This paper discusses the quality of the overall wavefront slope correction and the tracking of a
moving object as a function of the response rate of the tracking-mirror control loop of a
ground-based adaptive telescope. The limits corresponding to the conditions for an adequate
response rate when observing astronomical and aerospace objects are determined for the
limiting frequency of the loop.
