Phase Matching of High Harmonic Generation in the Water Window and Beyond at High Pressures using mid-IR Lasers

Abstract

We demonstrate that using longer-wavelength driving light in high-order harmonic generation requires moderately ionized larger-density atoms to perfectly phase match the process, scaling conventional phase matching at low ionization to extremely high photon energies.
