High-speed PAM4 Transmission Using a 12.5G Class DML Enabled by Low Complexity DSP

Abstract

We demonstrate 90 Gbit/s PAM4 transmission for intra-data center links using a 1540-nm DML. BER values below 3.8e-3 were achieved after 1 km of SMF at 0 dBm using low complexity eye-skew compensation and equalization.
