Abstract

We investigate the effect of reflection-generated coherent crosstalk on the performance of optical OFDM transmission. From simulation, allowable total crosstalk at a given OSNR was found to be independent of the number of subcarriers. Experimental comparison is provided, showing a similar crosstalk-generated variance for optical OFDM and NRZ-OOK format.
