Influences of Optical Feedback on the Operation of an EML Integrated with a Semiconductor Optical Amplifier

Abstract

Influences of optical feedback on the operation of monolithic integrated EML-SOA have been investigated. We found that EML-SOA shows three different operation modes for different feedback levels determined by different facet reflection and bias current.
