Abstract

We review recent advances in periodically amplified transmission using in-line phase-sensitive amplifiers (PSAs). Recent results are discussed showing the benefits of two-mode PSAs in periodically amplified transmission links provided by low-noise amplification and nonlinearity mitigation.
