Flexible bitrate systems for long haul transmission

Abstract

Flexible bitrate systems basing on pragmatic QAM, hybrid formats and probabilistic shaped formats. We show that a combined symbol rate – spectral efficiency adaptation allows for highest flexible adaptation of reach, bitrate and spectral efficiency.
