Abstract
A silicon-based subwavelength grating microdisk for mid-infrared optical sensing is proposed and demonstrated experimentally. It has a high sensitivity (~205nm/RIU), a high extinction ratio (~16dB), and a large quasi free-spectral range (~41.6nm).
