Performance Enhancement of a Broadband Polarization Rotator by using Modified Mode Converters

Abstract

A performance enhanced polarization rotator with high tolerance to fabrication on SOI platform is designed and analyzed. Simulation results show that ER>46dB is obtained at 1550nm, and ultra-wide bandwidth of 1440nm-1660nm is achieved for ER>20dB.
