Development and Production of Silicon Immersion Gratings for High-Resolution Infrared Spectroscopy

Not Accessible

Abstract

The University of Texas at Austin fabricates silicon grisms and silicon immersion gratings for astronomical and Earth science applications. These gratings are used in both space (JWST NIRCam) and ground-based (IGRINS, iSHELL, GMTNIRS) infrared spectroscopy. This technology allows us to design and build infrared spectrometers that are quite compact while covering a large spectral range at high resolution.
