Abstract

Recently there has been considerable discussion of the properties of atmospheric turbulence. The size of the outer scale (L0), and the scaling of the isoplanatic angle with wavelength have been questioned[1]. In order to address these questions, we conducted an experiment to make correlation measurements of the intensities in widely separated binary stars (~ 30 arc sec) as a function of separation.
