Abstract

We report on a novel large aperture RTP-based electro-optic Q-switch exhibiting high damage threshold, low insertion losses, excellent thermal stability and negligible piezoelectric ringing at repetition rates up to 75 kHz. 4.6 W average output power has been achieved at 75 kHz for a diode end-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser with 31% light to light and 40% slope efficiencies.
