Nanosecond mode-locked laser using an artificial saturable absorber

Abstract

Authors proposed and demonstrated a nanosecond mode-locked fiber laser using an artificial saturable absorber in the laser cavity. Mode-locked pulses were produced by adjusting the cavity loss.
