High power laser with Yb:YAG single crystal fibers directly grown by the micro-pulling down technique

Abstract

Using Yb:YAG single-crystal fibers grown by the micro-pulling-down technique, we achieved 50-W of cw power for 200-W of pump power with a M² of 2.2. The millijoule-level of energy was reached in the Q-switched regime.
