Novel Frequency Combs for Applications Beyond the Optics Lab

Abstract

Frequency Combs are optimized for larger mode spacing by mode filtering, or with Kerr combs generated in micro toroids. New applications include precision calibration of astronomical spectrometers or the synchronisation of atomic clocks over large distances.
