Fast and accurate neuron segmentation and unmixing based on shallow U-Net

Abstract

We developed a pipeline that segments active neurons from two-photon fluorescence videos by combining temporal signal processing and a shallow U-Net. The method was more accurate and an order-of-magnitude faster than existing segmentation pipelines.
