Abstract
The investigation of problems related to heat transmission in laser-irradiated specimens is recognized more and more as an interesting tool for studying biological tissues. A theoretical model for the thermodynamic analysis of laser irradiation of in vitro biological tissues has been reported.1 The temperature rises in living and dead tissues irradiated by cw Ar+ and Kr+ laser beams have been studied.2 Comparisons with a solution of the heat equation for laser-irradiated solids in the frame of a cylindrical source model are also given.
