Abstract
For industrial applications, the fast-axial-flow CO2 laser has advantages such as a stable output, good beam quality, and high discharge efficiency. The authors have developed fast-axial-flow CO2 lasers with output power ranging from 2 to 20 kW, utilizing high-frequency turboblowers designed especially for laser operation.1 An unstable resonator performance of the 20-kW fast-axial-flow CO2 laser is presented.
