Abstract

Phototliermal deflection allows us to characterize a wide set of electro-optical materials from the thermal and optical point of view. The technique is based on the detection of the displacement of a laser probe beam travelling in a region where a refractive index gradient is induced by heating the sample with a laser pump beam.
