Abstract
CdGeAs2 exhibits the highest nonlinear optical coefficient of any known compound (d36 = 236 pm/V), as well as a large birefringence (Δn ~ 0.09) and wide transparency range (2.3-18 μm), which makes it attractive for mid-IR frequency-conversion applications.
