Pump-probe measurements of multiwavelength ultrafast gain dynamics in a semiconductor optical amplifier

Abstract

The ultrafast gain dynamics of a semiconductor optical amplifier is measured under phase-correlated multiwavelength pulse amplification. Four-wave mixing, carrier heating and carrier cooling effects are observed and shown to enhance the phase correlation.
